Thando has held several leadership roles within and beyond the university. She previously served as the SRC Undergraduate Academic Coordinator and Chairperson of the Undergraduate Academic Sub-Council, where she championed academic access, institutional accountability, and curriculum transformation. Nationally, Thando serves as the Deputy President of the South African Youth Business Chamber (SAYBC), where she advocates for youth access to funding, skills development, and entrepreneurship opportunities. With a deep commitment to African-led development, social justice, and academic excellence, she brings a principled, progressive voice to the UCT Council.
